About Australian & New Zealand Spinal Cord Society (ANZSCoS)

The Australia and New Zealand Spinal Cord Society (ANZSCoS) is a leading organisation committed to advancing research, innovation, education, service delivery, and advocacy in the field of spinal cord injury, both traumatic and nontraumatic. Its mission encompasses a broad range of priorities, including injury prevention, scientific research, medical and surgical treatment, clinical best practices, rehabilitation, education, and the promotion of social equity and accessibility for individuals living with spinal cord injuries.

As an affiliated society of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS), ANZSCoS connects professionals and organisations worldwide who are working to improve outcomes and quality of life for people living with spinal cord injuries.

Its multidisciplinary membership includes:

  • Doctors, nurses and allied health professionals
  • Physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists
  • Social workers, pharmacists and dietitians
  • Rehabilitation engineers, educators and exercise physiologists
  • Individuals with lived experience of spinal cord injury

Together, they work to enhance rehabilitation outcomes, clinical standards, accessibility and inclusion across Australia and New Zealand.

The 2025 ANZSCoS Annual Scientific Meeting – Rivers of Innovation

The 2025 ANZSCoS Annual Scientific Meeting will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, QLD, from 19–21 November 2025.

This year’s theme, “Rivers of Innovation,” celebrates creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement in spinal cord injury care. The event will provide a valuable opportunity for networking, learning and professional growth.

Participants will explore:

  • New and emerging research in spinal cord injury rehabilitation
  • Advances in clinical practice and service delivery
  • Opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Ways to improve accessibility and quality of life for people living with spinal cord injuries
